Candace Gunther

Candace Gunther is a recent arrival to the Palo Alto area, having relocated in early 2025 after spending four decades in Pasadena, California. Born in Riverside, she earned a BS in Statistics from the University of California, Riverside, and built a multifaceted professional career spanning programming, systems design, and management consulting for manufacturing and commercial real estate companies.

In addition to her consulting work, Candace owned and operated her own antiques and art business for 25 years. She began her real estate career with Sotheby’s in 2007, where she met her husband, Roland Wilhelm. Candace and Roland have worked together in real estate for 18 years and are currently affiliated with Compass in Woodside.

Candace moved to the area to be closer to her son, Matthew Gunther, a psychiatrist at Stanford, and her son-in-law, Charles Cloughly, owner of a consulting firm. She is excited to volunteer with Neighbors Abroad and give back to the community, and looks forward to serving as Co–Vice President for Albi, France, alongside Jennifer Kleckner—a role that holds special meaning given her French maternal heritage.
