Ruth CarletonBoard Member at Large
Ruth is proud member of Neighbors Abroad for more than 50 years. She is a past President and is honored to have visited six of Palo Alto's Sister Cities.
Inspired by the Sister City concept set forth by Dwight Eisenhower, Ruth found that Neighbors Abroad fulfilled her need to help promote international peace and understanding. She has long worked with Sister City Palo, the Philippines, where she helped establish and develop the Children's Library in that city. In Palo Alto, she developed an exhibit of a community, similar to Palo, called Bayanihan, which lasted nine months in Palo Alto and went on to other venues in the U.S. |
