Vidas y Sueños

Vidas y Sueno is a non-profit organization with the aim to undertake activities to improve the living conditions of ethnical and indigenous communities in rural and suburban areas of Oaxaca. 

Neighbors Abroad Support

Since 1989 Neighbors Abroad have supported Oaxaca through a series of activities:

• Niño a Niño program: Over the years this program has providing education to children on nutrition, health and environmental awareness
• Built an observatory and a planetarium based on the advantageous  high elevation of the area.
• Contributed fire equipment and provided training for the firefighters. 
• .

Presently, due to the change from Niño a Niño into Vidas y Sueños , Neighbors Abroad provides “train the trainers programs”, by developing the skills to  improve nutrition, health and education competencies.   

At the community level, Neighbors Abroad has implemented a series of programs to give access to portable water, clean and low cost energy, better housing, hygiene, and other resources. Neighbors Abroad has also promoted sustainable practices and the creation of local production systems to improve the local community socially and economically.
